Alarm Bell Locations
The Doppler features two alarm bell lights to indicate if an alarm is turned on.
The first is located on top of the Doppler in the top right corner of the buttons:

The second is located on the display in the top left corner.

When an alarm is turned on, both the alarm bell on the alarm button and the display will light up a color other than white.
Note: By default, the alarm button is illuminated white so that the button is visible in low light conditions. This white color does not indicate that an alarm is turned on.
When an alarm is executing (alarm sounds coming from the Doppler), the alarm bell button and the alarm bell on the display will blink. In addition, the light bar at the top of the display will also blink.
When the alarm is snoozed, the alarm bell button, the alarm bell on the display, and the snooze button will all slowly pulse on and off until the alarm executes next or is turned off.
Alarm Bell Colors
The alarm bell is color coded.
System Alarm

A red alarm bell means the System Alarm is turned on. This alarm is turned on by pressing the alarm button on top of the Doppler when all alarms are off. Alternatively, this alarm can also be turned on in the Sandman App — it’s the alarm labeled “System Alarm.” This alarm can be edited by holding down the alarm button until the alarm bell on the display blinks red. Press or hold “-” or “+” to adjust the time. Then press the green alarm bell button to save and turn the alarm on. Alternatively, this alarm can be edited in the Sandman App. If this is the only alarm that is turned on, you can press the alarm button to turn it off. If you have multiple alarms turned on, see the “Multiple Alarms” section below.
Alexa Alarm

A cyan (blue) alarm bell means an Alexa alarm is turned on. This alarm is turned on by asking Alexa. This alarm can be edited or turned off before executing (alarm sounds coming from the Doppler) by asking Alexa.
Note: Alexa can only control Alexa alarms. We plan on working with Amazon to make this possible in the future.
Tip: You can ask Alexa “Alexa, what alarms are turned on?” to hear a list of alarms set with Alexa.
Sandman App Alarm

A green alarm bell means an App alarm is turned on. This alarm is created from within the Sandman App. This alarm can be edited or turned off ahead of time from within the Sandman App.
Re-occurring Alarms
If you have a re-occuring alarm turned on, when your next alarm executes (alarm sounds coming from the Doppler) and you turn it off, the alarm bells lights will turn off so that you know the current executing alarm has turned off. Then, 23 hours before the next scheduled alarm, the alarm bell will turn back on. This is done so that you think all alarms are off when you turn off the alarms in the morning and then they will be on and ready to go when you go to bed at night.
For Example: If you have an alarm set for 8 AM daily, it will execute at the next 8 AM. Then after it executes and you turn off the alarm, 1 hour later, the alarm light will turn on indicating that it is ready to execute at the next 8 AM.
Multiple Alarms
If you have multiple alarms turned on and the next one is executing (alarm sounds coming from the Doppler), when you press the Alarm button on the top of the Doppler to turn off the alarm, it will only turn off the current executing alarm.
If you have multiple alarms turned on and the next one is not executing yet, when you press the Alarm button on the top of the Doppler, it will only turn off the next up armed alarm.
Turning the Alarm Off When Executing
When the alarm executes (alarm sounds coming from the Doppler) you can control it directly via the top buttons.
To turn the alarm off, press the alarm bell button located on the top of the Doppler in the top right corner of the buttons.

If the executing alarm was set with Alexa, you can ask Alexa to turn off the alarm.
Snoozing the Alarm When Executing
To snooze the alarm, press the large snooze button (any of the media control buttons) on the top of the Doppler. The alarm will snooze for 9 minutes. If the executing alarm was set with Alexa, then you can also ask Alexa to snooze.

Can I use the Doppler to wake to music or is it just wake to an alarm?
Hi Tim, you can use Alexa for this feature. Just ask “Alexa, wake me up to music at 7 am” and she will do as you ask!
Question – Can I click on the snooze button multiple times to add 9 minutes per snooze click? That is a great feature from my old Sony alarm clock. Also, it would be great to be able to customize the length of the snooze timer.
James, this is a great feature request! Although we would be a little concerned that you’ll be stuck with a 90-minute alarm when you slap the snooze button 10 times in your half-awake state. We will add it to the backlog. Adjustable snooze length is a feature we have on our radar as well.
Hi! I am having issue setting alarms with the app. Is there a way to turn off the reoccurring app alarm outside of the app?
Hi Beth, the only way to turn off a reoccurring alarm is to disable it in the app. Each day, you can turn the next day’s alarm off using the alarm button on the Doppler, though.
I am finding that the alarm is very unreliable. When I turn it off in the morning often times it does not turn itself back on for the next day and I have set up a Monday through Friday alarm. If I go in the app and turn it on the alarm duplicates itself so now I have two at the same time in the app. If I use that one the next morning it will go off but then the snooze function doesn’t work. I find I have to delete the alarm and redo it many times per week to get the alarm to work properly
Hi Tim, can you reach out to support@sandmanclocks.com? We can take a look at your logs and see what is going on? Thanks!
